TRAILS OF SALUDA COMMUNITY LAND TRUST
The Saluda Community Land Trust prioritizes trail access in Saluda and the surrounding areas. In 2024 Hurricane Helene drastically changed the landscape in our area. Please be patient as we work to open all trails back up after that damage. The information below will help guide you to fully open trails in the area.

Bradley Nature Preserve
Within Bradley Nature Preserve there are a few different trails. The most popular being the Lazy Gal Trail. This trail winds you though a forested area in the heart of Saluda.
It is accessible to the public all day.
Judd's Peak
Judd's Peak overlook is open. The trail that takes you down into the Saluda Nature Preserve is closed to the public due to a mudslide. It will take SCLT time to repair the mudslide, so for the time being it is best to enjoy Judd's from the view up top!
Little Park
Little Park is a small, wooded area with a creek going through it. The trail takes you over the creek and out to the sidewalk. It is located behind the Polk County Middle School and is accessible by students only during school hours.
It is accessible to the public after school only.
Henry's Nature Center
Henry's Nature Center is a recreation area with trails, gardens, remains of an old homestead, a spring and more! Located at 9214 Spartanburg Hwy, this 20.67 acres is a gift to the Saluda Community from the descendants of R.H. Moody, Bradley Foundation, Polk County Community Foundation, and Saluda Community Land Trust. Open to the public July 16th, 2026!
Saluda Dog Park
Saluda Dog Park is less of a trail and more of a fenced in open space for your dogs to enjoy! Owned by the city of Saluda. SCLT helps maintain & manage invasive plants here.
The dog park is open and accessible to the public.
Wilkes Twin Lakes
Twin Lakes has 2 primary trails that goes through it. One is a wooded trail that meanders around one side of the lakes. The other (Holly's Trail) takes you up through the forest to a Meditation point next to a waterfall.
Twin Lakes is only accessible by reservation or during Open Swim days. Check the Calendar for availability.
Missing 40
The Missing 40 Trail is a stunning hike that takes you through the woods and into river crossings through the Pacolet River. It can be walked as a loop or as an out and back trail.
Helene did some damage out on this trail but it is being maintained and deemed safe for public use. Please use caution while on this trail. Rocks used for river crossings are often slippery. Highly suggest wearing water shoes.
Missing 40 is accessible to the public.
Round Mountain
Round Mountain is a steep, unmanicured out and back trail that takes you directly up Round Mountain.
With so much debris overlapping and the steepness of this trail, SCLT has had slow progress with it post Helene. We continue to do what is possible out there, but we suggest using caution while hiking.
